In my last weight loss post, I discussed my reasons for choosing Weight Watchers as my weight loss plan.  However, what works for me may not work for you.  Here are my top 5 tips for losing weight, no matter how you go about it!

As I mentioned previously, I started Weight Watchers last April.  I have been a member for 9 months now.  I went to the meetings for a long time, until a scheduling snaffu conflicted with the local meeting time.  I tried another meeting in a nearby town, however, it was not a good fit for me.  I was set to resume going to the local meeting this month – until it was closed down due to lack of attendance.  ***sniff, sniff***  So, after this month, I will be on Weight Watchers E-Tools only.  Through all of this, I have lost 30 pounds.  I could definitely have lost more, but I am honestly happy with the rate I have been losing.  I am losing steadily, when I remember to track my points.  I felt that I did badly over Christmas time, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had actually lost…

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m a planner.  And a list maker.  I love, love, love planning and making lists.  I’m not so keen on following through, though.  I think I have a fear of “what comes next”.  What do I do when I’m finished?  Well, I’ve had a revelation:  I move on to the next project!  The reality is, there will always be something else for me to plan, another project to complete.  My word for 2013 is diligence - I need to be diligent and see my plans through!

Last autumn, I decided to start doing Project Life.  If you have never heard of it, it is a way of documenting your family’s daily life.  Typically there is a two-page spread for each week, a picture for each day, and some journaling about that week’s activities.  I started on October 1st, because it was a Monday.  I decided I wanted my weekly spreads to start with Mondays so there would be a full weekend on each.  To be honest, I don’t have much more than some pictures and notes about each week at this point.  I planned to use digital products, but I have only dipped my toe into digital scrapbooking, and am not comfortable enough with it yet to get the results I want.  Also, I have so much in the way of physical supplies that I want to use some of them up.  Not to mention…

For the most part, 2012 felt to me like I was in a holding pattern.  See, Mr. Man and I are working toward getting back into the ministry we left 10 years ago.  There are certain things the church wants us to fulfill in order to do that, but those things all seem to be taking copious amounts of time to accomplish.  Friends and family keep asking for updates on where we are in the process, but there’s really nothing to update.
